ISo…Um, I guess I should start then? I’ll introduce myself. I’m Aalah and, well I need to write this down somewhere. Emotions are crazy and honestly I couldn't relay all of this in person anyways. Too many interruptions, too much noise and too many rumors after the fact. Anyway, enough with my angst, I’ll get to the story.
It was my freshman year of high school when my dad decided to send me off to some all-year round school. Being skeptical of the unisex academy, he chose some random all-girls place I’d never heard of. Of course, I was ecstatic. Every review I read about the place seemed to just get better. The place seemed really chill compared to most all-time academies I’d heard about. No dress code, late curfew, good food, fun staff, events and a great overall environment. Couldn’t have gotten better for me. There was a week left of summer and I went all out, a whole bunch of new clothes, fancy school supplies, home décor for the dorm, and of course a new laptop to use at school. There wasn’t much left to prep for after I customized my schedule, but the wait seemed really short. It was like one moment I blinked, the next I was at the campus. The campus was just like a college. With fancy metal gates, dorms all around, even a fancy fountain with loose change glittering like a thousand diamonds under the surface. There were clumps of students moving toward a big building which I assumed was the gym, so I followed. Once the large horde of students had arrived in the gym, a bland blonde lady unenthusiastically shuffled onto a small mahogany stage. She was wearing an outfit expected of an office worker, with a white button up tucked into a dark gray skirt, which reached about knee level on her. The lady who at the time I had dubbed “business chick” tapped on a microphone with a long, obviously fake fingernail a few times until the constant buzz of noise died down. Business Chick leaned into the mic (a bit too close for comfort if I do say so myself!) and began to talk in a bored, emotionless voice. The speech had obviously been given many times before. I remember wondering why they chose such a bland speaker to give the speech, I mean, if you’re gonna’ give the students a speech, you might at least try to make them excited about it! The lady began to call out names for dorms, which I thought was rather inefficient, but I was excited nonetheless. Groups of four stood (or sat) in front of the stage, waiting for their dorm keys to be given out, as well as directions to it. After a short while, I heard my name. I popped up out of the crowd like a jack-in-the-box and walked as fast as I could to the accumulated room-mates. I didn’t pay much attention to them then, all I had caught was, small, purple, cat carriers, bun, and other random, not useful features such as that. I was quivering with excitement as Business Chick handed us a shiny, silver key. I eagerly snatched it, and gave my full attention to the dull information being relayed to me. “Second building on the right, third floor up, room seven” I repeated in my head over and over again. After another unnecessary speech, Business Blonde Emo Chick leaned into her spittle covered microphone and basically told everyone to go do their thing. I glanced over my shoulder at the three girls and began to speak “Heya, I’m Aalah! Follow me!” I had said. I speed walked away, not even paying attention to if the girls were following.
Once I reached the dorm assigned to me, I glanced over my shoulder to see if my new roomies had followed me. Two had, one hadn’t. I shrugged it off and unlocked the freshly painted door. It swung outward, almost hitting me in the face. I walked in. All of the luggage had been haphazardly piled in the middle of the roomy dorm. Speaking of, the form was pretty great! It consisted of a main room, which I decided was for living and dining, a small kitchenette, which was separated from the main area by a tiny counter with bar stools, two bedrooms and a tiny bathroom with a tub-shower combo. It was very cozy, and I could’nt wait to unpack and decorate the place. The school had given us a small budget to buy beds and larger furniture, which was a good thing in itself. I walked in, setting the key on the bar before plopping myself down on the floor next to the boxes. The two other girls walked in as well, staring around at the apartment for a minute before turning to look at me. They seemed quite interesting, to say the least. The one with the cat carriers sat down next to me promptly, the other one stood by the boxes, hands clamped together shyly. Looking at the two, I smiled, if nothing else, this year was going to be interesting, I thought.
So, after a little bit of chatting, I had learned the girls names and appearances pretty well. There was Kiya, who was very noticeable, to say the least. She was around 5 feet tall, with purple-blue dyed hair, cut in a pixie hairstyle, and wide, electrifying hazel eyes. She wore a sleeveless light violet tank-top, with a brown ribbon wrapping around the torso, as well as pastel-galaxy leggings under plain white shorts. She had an ornamental mini lantern hanging from a thin necklace, which added to her aesthetically pleasing outfit a shocking amount. From what Kiya told me, she had two cats named Honey and Bee,(which are adorable cat names, by the way!). The other girl, who was very soft spoken, told me her name was Pinna. Pinna was even shorter than Kiya, with noodly arms and legs, and looked oriental, with very, very long eyelashes bordering dark, chocolate colored eyes, which were set upon a beautiful, pale white face with a square shape. She wore her black hair in a tight bun on the very top of her head, with two, small loose strands of hair tucked behind her small ears. Her outfit was very conservative, with a long sleeved, dark maroon turtleneck, black leggings, and peat boots stretching up to mid calf. She carried a large, black satchel, which smelled strongly of tea.Af1
